I had the distinct pleasure of working closely with Joanie Rasmussen for more than eight years during her time at Virtuance as both her colleague and most recently as her direct manager. Based on my extensive experience with her, I have no hesitation in recommending her to the highest degree for any position related to creating, supporting, and managing the Training and/or Learning and Professional Development functions of any organization.

Joanie began her tenure at Virtuance as a Client Success Specialist, and very quickly established herself as a natural leader and mentor for her colleagues on the team. As a result of her talents, she was quickly offered the formal role of team trainer, and shortly thereafter, as a result of her own proactivity, the role was expanded to encompass the training and development of additional teams outside of her direct department. Most recently, Joanie was promoted to Learning and Development Manager, and was responsible for the creation and management of the structure, content, tools and systems required for a world-class L&D function at Virtuance. Joanie has a plethora of skills and talents that make her an incredible asset to any organization. She is incredibly smart and is dedicated to continual learning and improvement. Moreover, she has a unique ability to show genuine empathy while also creating clear accountability for those she works with. In my time managing Joanie, I was consistently impressed with her ability to act proactively with little specific direction, and as a result she quickly gained my trust in her ability to accomplish any objective that was within her purview.

Joanie is comfortable and confident in authoring learning and development content that is specifically curated to the needs of an organization, and she is also incredibly well versed in setting up and managing the tech platforms required for a successful learning experience for teams at any company. In her time at Virtuance, she was able to consistently improve our team’s perception of our dedication to learning and development, while also receiving incredible feedback from those who participated in her programs about how impactful they were to their own professional development.
